Intro to Gourd Art!

Guest artist Eileen Maucott will take you from a raw dirty gourd from the field,all the way to a finished piece of art. You will begin by washing a gourd, cutting the top, and scraping the inside to clean it. Dyes and inks will be applied to achieve color. You’ll have the option of finishing the top of the gourd with basketry techniques, or the natural rim. Burning into the gourd will be introduced. This will be a two part workshop starting Saturday September 12 10-1pm and continuing Saturday September 19 10-1pm. No experience needed-ages 16 yrs and older.
